My group has decided on the final thriller we will be making, we went around the class discussing each others thrillers and deciding which ones would work the best and would be the easiest for us to make. Myself, Danica and Georgina decided on Georgina's idea of The Ending...
We decided that we would film this over the christmas break.

25 word treatment for thriller
For our independant study, in our production groups, we each had to come up with a 25 word treatment for our chosen thriller.
Call me insane
A women who returns from holiday,finding herself as the target of mysterious calls and threats, trying to convince those around her that shes not insane.
Conventional Characters - Phycologist, stalker ( patient)
Some of the films that gave me inspiration for my treatment are Shutter Island and Phone Booth.
My opening scene could be;
A hand holding a phone sending the message switching between her and the patients hand.

Location;
The actual location would be a toilet that involved the following;
-Toilet Door
-Taps+Sink
-Cubicles
-Mirror
Actors;
2 Men/Women depending on group
1 killer
1 dead person
Costume;
-Suit which includes (tie, trousers,jacket,shirt)
Or smart business dress for girls.
#Every thriller involves a crime scene and must have clues.

Physiological Thriller Mind Map
I created a mind map for physiological thrillers, naming different aspects and elements that would make up a thriller, for example, plot, key events, examples of key films, directors, genres etc. There were three sections of thrillers to choose from, a physiological thriller which I analyzed, a crime thriller was Georgina and espionage was chosen by Danica.
Some examples of physiological thrillers are Shutter Island, Vertigo, Inception and Fight Club.

Opening Title Sequences
In our lesson we were also discussing some title sequences that would be good to recreate as our own independant study...
My group which has changed slightly, Myself,Georgina and Danica have chosen to recreate the opening sequence to Dexter - the morning routine. We think this will be an interesting challenge for our group to film. Snatch however would be quite tricky to film so dexter is our chosen option.
Splice Analysis
In todays lesson, we focused on the opening title sequence of Splice. I wrote out a timeline and labelled each section with how many seconds a particular title lasted for and what effects are used when a new title would appear. Most of the titles would dissolve and a lot of the time the titles looked as if they were underwater. We also had to put what people were involved, for example the production comapanies and the actors/actresses involved. Overall i collected about 20 titles.
Ideology+Gender ♂♀
We discussed the meaning of ideology and gender in our class, I discovered that idelogy means ideas that go with a character, expectations and actions or a way of discussing a group. Ideology can also come in different forms, for example: messages. We also discussed the expectations of females and males. We had to line up in order of most masculine and most feminine. Most masculine meant that they would have a 'male' attitude, like swearing a lot, wearing clothes that may or may not be allowed or being quite tall and having hobbies such as playing football or rugby. The typical female wearing maybe feminine colours like pink, having nails painted, gossiping or the typical hobbies of shopping.
This is what society expects females and males to act in order to fit in and not judged.

Evaluation of Preliminary Task
We have to write an evaluation for the preliminary task '6 ways to kill your husband'
I think in our preliminary ask, we fulfilled the brief quite well, even though we struggled with some camera angles and the 180 degree rule.
The continuity throughout our opening sequence could have been better because at one point the conversation doesn't flow and the 180 degree rule didn't work too well.
The shot reverse shot and match on action is put on the sequence quite well.
The composition and framing of our sequence could have been better and the story board could have had more images.
